Pedalling Pantry

Birmingham's ONLY zero-waste sustainable green shop on two wheels.

We are purveyors of plastic free quality, local and heritage farm fresh fruit and veg boxes.

We also provide zero waste refillable pantry and household essentials.

With an increasing range of local suppliers of fine foods, we are proud to bring you the best of Brum!

Deliveries are made with either Babs, our zero-emission electric cargo bike or Bostin, our hybrid electric van.

We support our local food banks by donating any excess fresh produce and collecting donated items from customers.  We also compost any of our food waste at a local community garden.

We look forward to the honour of serving you!

Why Choose Us?

We are a family run business in the heart of Birmingham.  We provide a zero-waste plastic-free (apart from bagged salad) fresh fruit and veg box service.  This will include weekly staples and seasonal surprises perfect for the spontaneous cook (or follow our Facebook community for inspiration!). We have great relationships with both growers and wholesalers and aim to give you the best from the fields and farmers every week, so there's always something new to try.

Look out for special weekly add-ons that we are hoping to introduce.  These will include unrefined, healthy, wholesome baked goods, trialed out to perfection in the Pedalling Pantry test kitchen.  We are also building up our range of very competitively priced refillable pantry items and eco household essentials.  Calling all loyal Pedalling Pantry Patrons: keep an eye out for complimentary gifts along your journey with us.

These are delivered to the safety of your doorstep, all with a zero emission electric cargo bike. That way you can avoid the supermarket queues while we do all the leg work for you...literally!

We are registered with the National Caterers Association and have introduced practices that comply with their Covid 19 special measures policy.  We take the risk to both staff and customers seriously.  We are trained in commercial food hygiene standards.

We look forward to your custom and providing you with a service with a cherry on top!

"Yayyy, I love it! If you'd have me, I would like to be an official paying customer, as of next week!"

About Us

Jasdeep Sandhu

Founder

How am ya bab?  I'm Jas.  Let me introduce you to the team: my partner Carl, a little beautiful bilingual tribe of three (four if you include a beloved Kermit the frog), and Babs the cargo bike.  Welcome aboard the Pedalling Pantry family!  We live in Birmingham, in the middle of England.

Our roots, however, stretch to the colourful spices and saris of India (where my origins lie, although the girls and I are Brummies born and bred) and the golden sands and fresh coconut sorbets of Guadeloupe (the French Caribbean, where Carl and our son had the fortune to be born).

Pedalling pantry was birthed from our love of riding our bikes, rustling up healthy, wholesome foods in the kitchen and planning a new way to push the boundaries of what is possible.

Previous feats have included living simply but fully to successfully pay off our mortgage, free birthing all three of our babies, showing how less really is more in our tiny-living home for five, and most recently, back packing around South East Asia with six little legs in tow!

Thank you for joining us in our journey where we commit to look after the well being of our customers and our planet.  We look forward to getting to know you all soon.
